California agriculture is a thirty-billion-dollar business that is very much dependent on the strong work ethics of the farmworker community. I met two farm workers in the Central Valley during the 2009 drought. I remember how that drought turned farms upside down across the western side of the valley. Farmworkers, Carlos and Rubin, realized the stark reality that when there is no water, there is no work. Ditches were dry and they didn’t know when more water would come. How does a farmworker and their family know if they will have employment next year? Water is a Many Splendor’ed Thing brings you another water relationship that has a personally significant impact to your life.
