Outreach

THE OUTREACH

Resolving a water dilemma is reached by identifying common community values and achieving a common goal.
— Stephen Baker, Founder of Operation Unite

OUTREACH PROGRAMS

Operation Unite’s outreach programs are built and implemented with a relationship building program that bridges a water solution with the public that needs it. Sometimes we come up with the program and other times we work together to find the solution. Either way, Operation Unite® puts the remedy into action and shares the success with everybody. We believe that being heard and understood will yield agreements made and actions accomplished.

  • Stakeholders are Heard

  • Public Understands

  • Agreements are Made

Operation Unite’s relationship building program creates and maintains an internet radio channel specifically for the water project.  We perform personal interviews, public presentations, media interviews, school participation programs, social media events, forum and public meetings, field visits, flash mobs and the list goes on. We touch the hearts and minds of the stakeholders and public through concentrated, content specific information that is both convenient to listen to and personal. Interactivity is essential in all relationship building activities. One event or action is linked to the next and any project and behavior successes are mirrored back to the stakeholders and public.

Know Your Water® Members Typically Include Rural Residential Homes and Farms that Use Groundwater and Springs as Their Water Supply

The Know Your Water® program makes your life’s water needs manageable. It provides information you need and teaches you how to use it.

This is a program that recognizes tremendous potential in citizens across our nation and builds on the strengths present in their personal character and life circumstances.

Building a public response to a sometimes limited resource, like water, requires an expanded understanding of its presence and function in our lives. This is why our first step is to provide you with information describing your water supply. Once recognized, adaptive capacity, resourcefulness and willingness to work with your neighbors becomes the type of behavior that transforms limitation to accommodation and satisfaction in your life and community.

Neighborhood Water Alliance

The Neighborhood Water Alliance program establishes water contingencies and alternatives for neighborhoods. A Neighborhood Water Alliance Group recognizes that each water well and property is vulnerable in different ways. These physical differences can actually strengthen water supply reliability if neighbors work together. A Neighborhood Water Alliance Group realizes that protection and long-term reliability of the local groundwater resource needs to be effectively and properly managed.  As with any primary functioning system, an alternate system is also needed as a backup. The Neighborhood Water Alliance Group recognizes the need to develop a backup water supply for the neighborhood. Redundant water sources maximize the sustainability of a reliable resource through time.

The Neighborhood Water Alliance program will develop a short-term water contingency and acquire long-term water alternative sources into the neighborhood by incorporating a coordinated water supply management program for the neighborhood.

Spring Confirmation Program

Spring Confirmation Program

Spring Confirmation Program

The Spring Confirmation program provides critical information for protecting your spring water supply.

If you want to defend your appropriated water right, developing quantity and quality information on your historic and current spring flow is a necessity. It doesn’t present an issue for you until there is not enough water to go around. This is why Operation Unite® created a simple but effective program that provides you with the details that you need and strengthens your water portfolio.

Operation Unite Groundwater Sustainability Outreach

Operation Unite Groundwater Sustainability Outreach

Operation Unite® Groundwater Sustainability Outreach

The Operation Unite® Groundwater Sustainability Outreach builds and maintains public commitment to managing groundwater in the plan area.

Everyone wants a water supply that they can count on. It becomes a lot more problematic when you live in areas where rural residential and agricultural development are underlain by fractured rock groundwater aquifers.  Operation Unite® has created a program based on a developmental model that expands in memberships and data density through time by converting members to a higher level of participation. The water using population is guided into higher levels of engagement by appealing to community values and principals as well as defining a common community goal.

Ultimately, water well users monitor and adjust their water demands to meet a specific and unique sustainable water level threshold in their wells. This approach provides a great benefit to a public that is willing to engage in managing their water supply.
